This a beginning of the road A1 going to Kaunas and Klaipeda. The spot is most popular hitchhiking place in Vilnius and you may meet fellow hitchhikers almost always during the daytime there.
You may reach this place by trolleybus n. 4, 6, 12, 15, 18 or bus n. 24. Go till the stop "Vaduvos" and then go forward about 50 m to the beginning of the hill after traffic lights.
The place itself seams very bad place for hitchhiking, because it is uphill and there is almost no place for cars to stop. But fortunately car drivers are used to stop there and even big trucks time to time stop here.

actually it is also one of the spots t go to poland and the whole westrn europe, i guess more simple then the one suggested: just get to kaunas and get out at IX fortas where A1 crsses with the road to the south direction border.

Choose this way if you go to West Europe or to visit Lithuanian cities Alytus, Marijampole, Druskininkai, Trakai. Of course, you may go to Marijampole via Kaunas, but you may get stuck on the ringroad of Kaunas for a long time. So my advice is to choose a road via Trakai , Aukstadvaris and Prienai.
In order to reach this spot you should first go to the "Vaduvos" bus stop in Zemieji Paneriai (trolleybus n. 4, 6, 12, 15, 18, bus n. 24) and then change to rare buses n. 8, 9, 20, 25, 28, 51 going uphill for two stops. Get off the bust in the bus stop "Lentvario". It looks like begining of the forest, but it is just a beginning of the roads A4 (to Alytus, Druskininkai, Varena, Grodno (in Belarus)) and n.105 (to Trakai, Prienai, Birstonas, Marijampole and further to the West Europe) :-). The crossroad where these two roads separate is some 8 km further, so sometimes it is good idea to take a lift till this crossroad where you may target just "proper" cars you need.
In some words - the spot is very good, just takes a bit time to get there.

This is the second most popular hitch-hiking spot in Vilnius and you may notice local people trying to get a lift quite often there. It is on the border of two city's districts - Fabijoniskes and Pasilaiciai.
In order to get there it is best to take bus n. 5 till the bus stop "Fabijoniskes", but it could be difficult to find such bus, so you may also take trolleybuses n. 16 and 19 till the last stop "Pasilaiciu ziedas" ("Pasilaiciai Ring") and then walk 200-300 meters direction North-East to the bus stop "Fabijoniskes".
You may wait for a lift just after this bus stop, but if you see too many local people trying to get a lift there, walk a bit forward in order to escape from the crowd and became visible.

The spot itself is quite good, just the road sometimes is very crowded and narrow.
You may reach Moletai road by buses n. 34, 48 (bus stop "Akademijos" and walk 200 m North East forward), n. 26A, 50, 77 (bus stop "Moletu" and walk 250 m North West forward), n. 26, 55, 75 (bus stop "Ligonine" and walk 50 m back to the ring and then about 300 m North West direction).
Tip - if you need to go to Utena or further, do not take a lift shorter, than to Utena. You may take a lift to Moleta just in case of heavy traffic to escape city or if you are in a crowd of colleagues hitchhikers :-)

You may easily reach this place by public transport. The best way is to take trolleybus n. 2, 14 or 19 till stop "Sauletekis" and then walk about 300 m direction North East or take a trolleybus n. 3, 4, 10, 11 till it's last stop in Antakalnis transport hub and then walk about 500 m direction North East.
Some people hitch-hike already in Antakalnis transport hub, but they miss a lot of cars from Milasiaus st., which is a bit further.
One dissadvantage - could be a lot of local traffic, so you may take a lift to Nemencine in order just to avoid these locals.

it is very easy to hitch-hike from this place; we have been taken by an auto many times, even if we were four people.

This place is a crossroad of Zirniu st., Liepkalnio st. and Minsk road. Road A3 to Minsk starts from this crossroad. So you may start thumbing just after this crossroad.
You may reach this place by buses n. 12, 13, 16, 19. Go to the bus stop "Zirniu" and walk 50 m to the hitchhiking spot on Minsk road. It is just 4 bus stops from bus and railway stations.
If you plan to go to Moscow, it is wise to choose this road via Minsk instaed of shorter via Polock. Bus you may choose this road just in case you have Belarussian visa in your passport. If you don't, choose a road via Daugavpils and Rezekne in Latvia.
